Whilst active orthodontic treatment provides the most exciting changes to your smile, there is much more to orthodontic treatment than just the initial alignment.

It is important to continue regular general dental visits for check-ups and cleans throughout and post orthodontic treatment.  Your family dentist will ensure your general oral health is maintained.

Once orthodontic treatment is completed, and in most cases, you will be provided with both bonded retaining wires (behind the teeth) and clear removable retainers that are worn of a night time.  Retainers are important to help preserve and stabilize the results achieved during the active phase of treatment.  These retainers are supervised for the first 15 months.
